In our previous posts, we have discussed general queries on Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) and the framework for ODR in India, but we have not yet spoken about the work that we do at ADReS Now. We thought in this post we would introduce our platform and give you an overview of what we do.

ADReS Now is a revolutionary platform that enables the efficient resolution of disputes through online arbitration. Traditional arbitrations conducted by arbitration centres and industry bodies still necessitate meetings in person, physical documentation, and travel costs for parties. ADReS Now allows disputants and arbitrators to resolve disputes completely online, in the comfort of their homes, on devices of their choice, with fast yet flexible timelines, and at affordable costs.

ADReS Now’s online arbitration platform is a combination of document management, case management, and video conferencing systems, which removes several constraints brought about by the current Covid-19 crisis. This bespoke technology is secure, innovative, and user-friendly, providing a convenient and cost-effective alternative to traditional dispute resolution methods. ADReS Now is supported by a strong legal framework, that we have discussed previously, here.

When we launched ADReS Now, we would have never thought that a platform we had hoped would improve systemic efficiency, would so soon become essential. The platform allows disputants, counsel, witnesses, and arbitrators to each work remotely while having complete and secure access to dispute-related details. Not only can the platform assist with the raising of new disputes, existing arbitrations that have stalled may also be transitioned to it. ADReS Now’s platform seeks to provide maximum flexibility to its users to enable them to enforce commercial agreements.

The arbitrations take place on a secure online platform where disputants can access a panel of experienced arbitrators. All the parties are sent alerts and reminders based on their dispute schedule and can also access an array of dashboards, metrics, and reports regarding their dispute(s) on the platform. ADReS Now is completely transparent about pricing and provides an efficient mechanism for dispute resolution at reasonable costs. The intuitive and easy-to-use platform ensures efficient case management, by streamlining and automating significant parts of the arbitration process, thus assuring procedural certainty and timely resolution.

The ADReS Now platform offers two modes of arbitration to disputants. The first is institutional arbitration. In this mode, a party can register with ADReS Now and resolve a dispute on the platform using empanelled arbitrators, and procedures set out by ADReS Now. Once the parties register and sign up, they can initiate and conduct a dispute on the platform entirely online.

ADReS Now also offers the use of its proprietary platform as a service to disputants and arbitrators. Parties have the option of registering on the platform and bringing on board arbitrators previously agreed upon by them. In this case, ADReS Now will provide the virtual environment for the conduct of dispute resolution.

The ADReS Now platform provides numerous advantages to disputants, lawyers, and arbitrators alike. Some of the primary benefits that users can derive by using ADReS Now are as follows:

· Case management — On the ADReS Now platform, disputants can avail end-to-end case management services. Disputants, lawyers, and arbitrators will have one-stop access to all documents and case details for all the company’s disputes, receive automated alerts and notifications that are shared on the app as well as e-mail, access to custom dashboards and granular analyses, and be able to take part in easy-to-join hearings that are conducted online on the platform. Management and analysis of multiple disputes at once are made simple.

· A low overall cost of dispute resolution — Disputants will be able to save on documentation, travel, physical rent of conference spaces, etc. The cost is fixed at the outset and does not increase over time. Disputants can expect to save at least 20 percent of the overall costs when compared to traditional dispute resolution methods.

· Predictable timelines — The automated dispute schedule is created through an algorithm and takes any relevant inputs from parties into consideration. Parties have greater control of processes and time in comparison to court litigation. Disputes will be completely resolved 60–90 days from the date of filing. If the dispute is ex-parte, it will be resolved in even shorter timelines.

· Qualified arbitrators — All of the arbitrators empanelled with ADReS Now are impartial, qualified, and experienced. They have area-based specialization and will be appointed accordingly.

We are happy to have shared an overview of our platform, ADReS Now, and we look forward to sharing more about our platform specifically, and online arbitration in general, in our posts ahead.
